Emperor's New Clothes

I'm sure many of us who has read the book "Emperor's New Clothes" before. Particularly if your childhood has a bit of English books. If not mistaken, the story book is translated into multiple languages as well.

As a summary, from Wiki:
An emperor who cares too much about clothes hires two swindlers who promise him the finest suit of clothes from the most beautiful cloth. This cloth, they tell him, is invisible to anyone who was either stupid or unfit for his position. The Emperor cannot see the (non-existent) cloth, but pretends that he can for fear of appearing stupid; his ministers do the same. When the swindlers report that the suit is finished, they dress him in mime. The Emperor then goes on a procession through the capital showing off his new "clothes". During the course of the procession, a small child cries out, "But he has nothing on!" The crowd realizes the child is telling the truth. The Emperor, however, holds his head high and continues the procession.
How can we apply such a story to today's lifestyle? Of course we are not as stupid or ignorance in terms of clothing these days (though i wouldn't deny that the fact that some people actually wore a lot less than they thought these days!), however, in many other things, people still continues to show their ignorance or denials yet very proud of it.

Just look at what's happening around us! The whole place is collapsing, numbers are decreasing, etc. What do our leaders say? "No problem lah, got problem meh, those are individual problems, we don't have problem but you are the troublemaker, etc". They recently had a meeting, what outcomes have they had, we have no ideas at all (it's confidential wor :P). Not exactly convinced that they have thought of ways to counter it?

Perhaps instead of pointing about the crisis they are facing, they rather focus on a person that tells them there's a crisis ahead. What difference it is to M'sia Govt ISA's on Sin Chew Reporter, Tan Hoon Cheng? She's just doing her job reporting to the people what has been said. In this case, what's wrong with the person warning them of a crisis ahead? Or is it like the old days where the prophet is persecuted for prophesying on their fate?

Now, what does the story above meant? Let's put it in simple A-B-C English, for those who have no understanding at all. First, there were complaints from the people about the actions or words by the other party. They felt very pressured and uncomfortable. They approach me to vein their frustration. I inform relevant authorities of this issue, asking them to do an inquiry of the matter. They've done their inquiry (in less than 24 hours, how efficient!) and replied. I have no problems with their reply. Case should be closed by now.

However, sadly it's not the case. The case is still running as mad as a cow. Going all corners, charging all angles and crushing everything in between. Causing huge distress among the people involved directly & indirectly. Now, what actually happened?

Well, in another A-B-C English. One of the relevant authority who received the request letter actually forwarded the letter to the person involved. Worst of all, didn't even protect the anonymity of the person who wrote the letter. This of course, undoubtedly causes burning anger in them. Blasting like the Krakatoa Volcano in the late 1800's. The problem is, the letter was NOT even a condemn or accusation letter. It's like a request or feedback later I should say. It's like you go to ask the police to investigate something because of suspicion that unlawful events have occurred. Instead of investigating, the police then go knock on the door and ask them, "Is there any unlawful here? Your neighbour asked us to check on you". If you are in that house, of course you are going berserk! Denying everything or even clear off evidence ASAP. So, it's the similar situation that happens here. So, this is the thing that could still be clouding in their minds.

It's so true that the Proverbs in the Bible says that we need to have the right counsel, especially those in the leadership arena. Otherwise, we'll be like the emperor who wore "new" clothes. Choosing leaders are very important as well. Can we afford for incompetence, irresponsible or credit lovers to be leaders? Some may argue we should give them chances or benefit of a doubt. However, it's right in some ways, not right in some ways. Chances must be given for them to prove themselves. However, not on such important leadership roles. They should prove themselves worth it of a higher responsibilities. Where did the bible give someone a huge role or responsibility without first testing him with a smaller one? Abraham went through the test of faith, Moses went through the stubborn pharaoh, etc.

Unless, the leadership roles are not of importance, hence the "cin cai-ness" to choose a leader?

So, the questions are now: Who are your counsel? Are they reliable? Are they people with responsibilities & accountability? Are you able to trust everything on them? Are we going to be continual state of denial?
