Philip Island Getaway

Finally, we have come back to Melbourne after a few days of well deserved break! After both of us have been working so hard for the past few months, this holiday just came at the right timing. Best of all, it's not the end of it!

On Tuesday, we'll be flying to South Korea! Woohoo~!! After which, we shall "endure" a different & challenging lifestyles. Waking up at 5am to pray is one of the examples!

Let me share some of our experiences in the 2 days, 2 nights trip to Philip Island. The destination was sort of decided in the last minute, and I mean really last minute! It was decided around 10.15am on Saturday before we depart. Initially, I was planning to go around the west coast like Great Ocean Road areas but nice holiday homes are mostly booked out or too expensive! So I have to rely on my newly renewed Accor Advantage Plus membership to bail me out again! We went to the All Seasons Eco Resort. It was a nice place, quiet and very eco friendly! We stayed in a studio apartment. Small but still bigger than the studios I managed in my work!

We decided to go the places that we seldom go in Philip Island. Places like to see the Pinnacle Valleys, Pyramid rocks, etc. The usual places like Penguin Parade, Nobbies, Chocolate Factories, etc are just too common for us.

Let's enjoy some of the photos

Day 1: Esplanade

My wife (I seldom take photo)

Day 2: Church, Pinnacle Valley, etc
Pinnacle Valleys is definitely worth the effort for sight seeing. It's about 1.5 hours walk return from 1 of the beach (can't remember the name now). It's quite tiring to be walking on sand for about 3km. Along the way, we thought of giving up, after all, there're only a few rocks! We decided to stay on since we have walked half way. However, the breath taking views just took away the fatigues. It's lucky we didn't give up half way!

The church service was quite good as well. Though sometimes it may seems quite "traditional" but most important thing is we can feel the presence of God in the church hall. The sermon was simple yet enforces very strong message of forgiveness. It also serves as a reminder to us that while some of the church leaders are busy playing church politics to gain power or credit, God is out in the field trying to get more workers on board! The passage was from Matthew 20:1-16. How many times have church leaders trying to be God, when all it's asked is to loyal & responsible to body of Christ? How many times have church leaders have not used their God-given talents & gifts to minister the church effectively? How many times have church leaders grumbles against the "unfairness" of God?

Too bad our digital camera screen damaged after this day! Don't know why! It didn't fall or what. So might have to get other camera when we get to Korea! Otherwise, no photos as memory!
