Malaysian Tri-Elections

The first ever Tri-elections in Malaysia is going on as we speak. The constituents involved are Batang Ai, Bukit Selambau and Bukit Gantang.

As expected, BN easily cruises to victory in Batang Ai as Sarawak always have been the BN stronghold. If it wasn't for Sabah & Sarawak, BN would have lost the majority in previous general elections.
Official final results - BN wins with 1,854 majority. BN 3,907 votes vs PKR 2,053.
In Bukit Gantang, PR has won!
Official final results - Ousted Perak MB Nizar (PAS) wins with a 2,789 majority. PAS 21,860 votes vs BN 19,071 votes. Independent 62 votes.
As for Bukit Selambau in West Malaysia, unofficial results have been PR leading the way.

Not even Dr Mahathir's presence would boost BN's support. His protege, Najib played the desperation card few days ago by releasing those under ISA also couldn't make the big difference.

It's still going to take a lot of effort for PR to enter Sarawak and Sabah. With a few leaders from PKR showing dissatisfaction over Anwar, could it spell trouble for PKR? For me, I think it's good that they leave anyway. Wouldn't make any difference!
